The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
Our client is looking for a DBA with experience in database technologies and a good understanding of SQL/Oracle development. This is a contract role initially for 6 months with a good possibility of extension. Please note that this role is fully onsite - 4 days per week in London and 1 day onsite in Milton Keynes. Due to the nature of the role, DV clearance is required. Candidates also need to be eligible for NPPV3 clearance or ideally already hold one.
Essential Experience Required:
- Experience in database technologies and a good understanding of SQL/Oracle development and scripting tools.
- Oracle DB Architecture, Performance, Database Installation & Configuration.
- Experience in database administration, including backups, maintenance, performance monitoring and troubleshooting, security management, patch management.
- Experience in implementing high availability setups such as Always on HA, Mirroring, log shipping and Microsoft Clustering.
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft SQL Server Stack - SSMS, SSAS, SSIS & SSRS.
- Experience working on Linux.
- Able to work to tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server internals and core database functionality (indexes, schemas, triggers, etc.).
- Good understanding of database architecture and database design.
With a View To Carrying Out The Following:
- Installation, Configuration, Maintenance, Performance of DB systems - SQL and Oracle.
- Monitor & maintain and tune databases to optimise availability of server as well as troubleshooting performance.
- Creating suitable Database alerts as well as proactively monitor and responding to alerts.
- Troubleshoot performance and connection issues.
- Build environments based on standards and best practices that would align to operational and business requirements.
- Monitor database maintenance scripts for backups, index rebuild/defragment, and database statistics.
- Producing, maintaining, and ensuring backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.
- Application Implementation, IT application and applications support, technical support, problem solving, technical documentation, communication.
- Support of application Installation, configuration, maintenance.
- Availability for out of hours support as part of a support rotation.
