Whilst this is a hybrid position it will require you to work on site at our Bristol office 2/3 days a week as required.
Candidate Profile
In this role, you will join a skilled delivery team responsible for enhancing and evolving a live digital service used by our key UK Government Department Client.
You'll develop new functionality, improve existing capabilities, and help deliver frequent, high-quality releases that provide tangible value to users.
Working closely with CGI colleagues and client stakeholders, you'll contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
You'll have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, share best practice, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and collaborative delivery.
As a senior member of the team, you'll take ownership of your work while supporting colleagues and helping drive successful project outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Design & Develop high-quality features using . NET and Java Script/Type Script technologies.
- Build & Deliver secure, scalable cloud-native applications hosted on AWS.
- Collaborate & Engage with client stakeholders and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Contribute & Improve application architecture, coding standards and engineering best practices.
- Develop & Maintain APIs, backend services and user-facing functionality.
- Support & Optimise CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions and modern Dev Ops practices.
- Work & Innovate within an Agile delivery environment, contributing to sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
- Mentor & Share knowledge with colleagues, promoting continuous learning across the team.
- Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
To succeed in this role, you'll bring strong experience developing modern software solutions using Microsoft technologies and Java Script/Type Script within Agile delivery teams.
You'll be comfortable working directly with clients, passionate about engineering quality, and motivated by delivering innovative digital services that create lasting business value.
Essential Qualifications
- Strong commercial experience developing applications with . NET.
- Excellent Java Script and/or Type Script development skills.
- Experience working with Mongo DB.
- Experience developing and deploying containerised applications using Docker.
- Knowledge of AWS cloud services.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions.
- Strong understanding of Agile software development practices.
- Excellent communication skills with experience working directly with clients.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
