Working within the customer Design Authority, you will provide technical governance, establish engineering standards and ensure technical solutions and artefacts meet agreed quality and assurance requirements.
This is a senior technical transformation position suited to someone with broad engineering knowledge who understands how to improve engineering delivery across complex, multi-supplier environments.
- Technical Transformation Lead Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering transformation across a complex MOD technology programme.
- Develop and maintain the programme engineering strategy, ensuring technical delivery supports agreed cost, quality and timescale commitments.
- Align cloud, network, infrastructure, workplace, software, support and service management workstreams.
- Establish consistent engineering processes, standards, governance and lifecycle guidance across technical teams.
- Work within the customer Design Authority and lead technical governance and assurance activities.
- Ensure suppliers produce consistent, governed and assured technical designs, documentation and engineering artefacts.
- Establish a pragmatic delivery approach using Agile, Scrum, SAFe and ITIL principles where appropriate.
- Support the transition from programme delivery into a stable, ITIL-aligned live service.
- Define engineering and automation tooling requirements across the programme.
- Drive improvements across Dev Ops, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and engineering automation.
- Lead technical teams, suppliers and the Engineering Community of Practice.
- Influence senior customer, programme, architecture, engineering and supplier stakeholders.
- Technical Transformation Lead Skills And Experience
- Significant experience in senior engineering, architecture or technical transformation leadership roles.
- Broad technical knowledge across cloud, platforms, infrastructure, networks, workplace technologies, software engineering or service operations.
- Strong experience of engineering governance and working within Design Authority environments.
- Experience implementing or improving engineering processes and standards across multiple technical workstreams.
- Experience delivering complex cloud, infrastructure, platform, engineering or Dev Ops transformation programmes.
- Strong understanding of Agile and ITIL delivery within complex enterprise technology environments.
- Experience with Dev Ops, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and automation.
- Experience leading technical teams and managing complex supplier relationships.
- Strong senior stakeholder management with the ability to influence customers, architects, programme leadership and suppliers.
- Experience within MOD, Defence, secure government or similarly regulated technology environments.
- SAFe Experience Is Strongly Desirable But Not Essential
Strong understanding of transitioning complex technology programmes into ITIL-aligned live service operations.
