Job Title: VMWare Engineer (IT) / Contractor at Free-Work UK
Base Pay Range
Our client is looking for a VMware Engineer to join their team on a six month initial contract, working hybrid out of their site in London. This role requires a candidate with an active DV clearance and has the opportunity to go through an NPPV3 clearance. The role is working via Umbrella.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy a new ESX Virtualised Platform including management tooling, manage multiple virtual machines (VMs) in a dynamic secure environment.
- Design and implement VMware-based infrastructure to support the business requirement including multiple VMs across various environments.
- Build, configure, and maintain virtual machines using vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Monitor system health and troubleshoot issues related to virtualization.
- Collaborate with network, storage, and security teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Stay current with VMware updates, patches, and best practices.
Qualifications
- High-level security clearance experience or holding a DV clearance is preferred.
- Experience with VMware technologies, virtualization, networking, and storage integration.
- Strong understanding of VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
- Experience with high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery in virtual environments.
- Good problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to document configurations, procedures, and policies.
