Fixed Term – Full Time
Based in Walsall, West Midlands, the hospital is a community-facing rehabilitation and recovery (R&R) service, set within a modern, purpose-built centre. It is specifically designed to support both males and females who have severe, complex and enduring mental health needs, which might include treatment-resistant conditions.
Salary: £58,250 – £68,250
Hours: 37.5
Vacancy Type: Fixed Term – Full Time
Please note that this is a fixed term contract to cover Maternity Leave. The length of the role is expected to be for between 9 and 12 months.
You must be a Qualified Psychologist, holding membership in a recognised professional association (HCPC).
You will have experience and knowledge in carrying a designated caseload, including assessing patients with complex needs, and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatment within adult mental health services.
You should be committed and comfortable working in an MDT setting and offering advice and consultation to other professional colleagues. The post-holder will contribute to staff training and staff support including reflective practice spaces.
As The Principal Psychologist You Will:
- Conduct individual therapy sessions with patients experiencing a range of emotional distress.
- Perform comprehensive psychological assessments and formulations.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure integrated and holistic care.
- Administer and interpret psychometric tests to support diagnostic and therapeutic processes.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions, applying evidence-based practices to address a range of needs.
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with professional standards and regulations.
- Take a key role in service development.
- Contribute to MDT care planning and review.
- Contribute to professional development within the team.
- Contribute to audit and research.
- Engage in CPD.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Extensive experience in providing one-to-one therapy to clients with various emotional and psychological issues.
- Expertise in conducting assessments, developing formulations, and delivering psychometric evaluations.
- Experience in facilitating group work and therapeutic interventions.
- In-depth knowledge and experience working with adult caseloads.
