We are currently recruiting for a Training Officer with an electrical maintenance background to join a training provider based in Ellesmere Port. This is a permanent role working Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm, offering a salary of £35,832 per annum plus flexitime and 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays!

Your Role Will Involve:

  • Delivering and preparing training materials within the prescribed training programmes to enable trainees to meet the required safety, technical and behavioural standards.
  • Developing and reviewing lesson plans and implementing improvements to delivery, responding to course evaluation and feedback.
  • Monitoring, assessing, reviewing and providing feedback and recommending improvements to trainees on their progress and support and guide trainees on any aspect of their training where necessary.
  • Evaluating their progress to determine competency.
  • Proactively supporting and encouraging a culture focused on health and safety and good housekeeping standards, supporting and assisting the Health and Safety Manager and enforcing the various policies, rules and terms and conditions of the business.
  • Reporting on the performance of trainees through the administration of established systems; maintaining records to ensure that both written and electronic data are accurate.
  • Acting as a mentor to a group to ensure their performance, identifying, discussing and resolving, as far as reasonably practicable, their problems.
  • Promoting personal development to create and maintain an environment in which they are able to realise and achieve their full potential.

We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:

  • At least 5 years experience working in an Electrical Maintenance role, Time Served Electrician or a Training Officer role providing electrical maintenance training.
  • Previously worked in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Relevant electrical qualifications to a minimum of NVQ Level 3.
  • Excellent communication skills with good presentation skills in order to deliver training to a group of trainees.
  • A huge advantage would be to hold or be working towards Level 3 Award in Education and Training, CTLLS, NVQ Level 3 in Direct Training & Support, A1 and/or V1 (D32/D33/D34), Cert. Ed. This is not essential.
  • Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
