About Us Free Readers is a prestigious supplementary school committed to helping every child reach their full potential. We specialise in bridging learning gaps and building strong foundations in Reading, Maths and English for children aged 3–11 years. Our approach blends technical teaching excellence with genuine care, creating an environment where children grow in confidence and ability.
Our Saturday School runs for 36 weeks each year in line with the traditional Autumn, Spring, and Summer terms.
The Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled tutors for Reception, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 classes. This is a highly rewarding role for teachers who combine:
- Exceptional subject knowledge in Phonics, Maths and English
- A love for working with children and a passion for seeing them excel
- Strong classroom management and teaching skills
This role is ideal for teachers at all career stages – from recently qualified to highly experienced and retired teachers who still want to make a lasting impact.
Requirements (Essential)
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Minimum 1 year UK classroom experience
- Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or obtained within the last 2 years)
- Excellent references and proven academic ability
Desirable
- First Aid certification
- SEN awareness, particularly in supporting children with autism and ADHD
- Experience working in small-group or one-to-one teaching settings
