THE ROLE

Due to the Company's ongoing success and growth, we have an exciting new position for a Wet Paint Foreman. This role requires a team player with expert knowledge in all types of wet paint spraying processes, who will oversee the operational delivery, success and growth in this area of the business.

EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS

  • To have a background as an experienced paint sprayer with extensive knowledge of spraying many types of substrates in all types of materials (from primers to metallics and lacquers), using 1 and 2k products.
  • 5+ years' experience, managing a shop floor team running multiple paint lines / departments, achieving company objectives.
  • Knowledge and understanding of IS0 9007:2015 or equivalent.
  • To have good people management skills with experience in actioning and maintaining company disciplinary and H&S requirements.
  • Ensure high levels of Housekeeping, working to 5S.
  • Able to work to the highest quality required for A1 automotive standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Understand how equipment, from spray guns to spray booths and ovens, operate.
  • Ability to simultaneously perform multiple tasks, meeting deadlines and responding positively to pressure.
  • Problem-solving attitude makes effective decisions in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • IT skills: Excel and Word.
  • Able to train ALL operators on a line, from General Operatives, Sprayers and Inspectors.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily operational management of a Wet Paint Team.
  • Production and Labour planning, working closely with Account Managers.
  • Monitor production efficiency and able to produce performance KPI information.
  • Conduct briefings to the teams providing performance feedback and targets and objectives.
  • Attending and contributing to internal and external (customer) meetings.
  • Ensuring daily operation KPI's are met effectively and efficiently.
  • Able to identify areas of continuous improvement and deliver the relevant training.
  • Highlight to senior management any critical situations which could impact on production.
  • To be responsible for the day to day quality and production output of your team.
  • Escalate issues as and when they occur.
  • Support other teams in achieving company targets.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulation.
