We are looking for a passionate Assistant Manager to help lead our team, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and support the day-to-day running of one of our fantastic pubs. If you are ready to take the next step in your hospitality career and thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment, we would love to hear from you. Experience with letting rooms would be advantageous, as you'll play an important role in maximising revenue opportunities and delivering exceptional experiences for both guests and residents.

As Assistant Manager, you will be at the heart of the pub, leading from the front to deliver outstanding guest experiences and ensuring every shift runs smoothly. Alongside this, you will play a key role in driving the business forward, supporting sales, managing labour and stock effectively while maintaining high operational standards. With the confidence to take ownership in the GM's absence, you will balance people, performance, and results in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering great guest experiences that drive strong feedback scores, repeat visits, and positive reviews
  • Leading, coaching, and developing your team to improve engagement, retention, and overall performance
  • Driving sales and revenue through upselling, product knowledge, and delivering against weekly targets
  • Managing labour effectively to balance great service with achieving labour cost targets
  • Running smooth, high-performing shifts with a focus on speed, quality, and consistency
  • Maximising occupancy and revenue opportunities within the letting rooms business, ensuring high standards of presentation, guest satisfaction and commercial performance
  • Maintaining operational standards including food safety, compliance, stock control, and protecting GP margins
  • Taking ownership in the absence of the GM, making confident decisions to support both the team and business performance

What you will enjoy in return:

  • Competitive salary plus tips
  • 25% discount on food, drink and accommodation across Robinsons managed pubs, inns and guest rooms
  • 50% off food during shifts
  • Team rewards with discounts at over 800 retailers
  • 28 days paid annual leave
  • NEST pension scheme
  • Ongoing training and career development opportunities
  • Fully funded apprenticeships available
  • Wellbeing and mental health support
  • Healthcare cash plan for dental, optical and everyday healthcare costs
  • Stability and opportunities within a family-run business that's been thriving for over 185 years
  • Uniform provided
