This role sits within one of our enhanced services, supporting individuals with forensic backgrounds, complex needs, and behaviours that may challenge. Because of the nature of the service, previous Service Manager experience is essential.
We are looking for a confident and skilled Service Manager to lead teams who provide care and support in supported living settings. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience managing staff teams, and the ability to handle staff-related matters professionally and in line with legislation. A working knowledge of CQC compliance requirements is essential. A Level 3 in Health and Social Care is essential, and the successful candidate must be willing to work towards a Level 5.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day running of services across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.
- Supervise all members of the staff team.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support for staff and tenants.
- Implement behaviour management strategies when required, working alongside the PBS Lead.
- Support individuals with Learning Disabilities, Forensic backgrounds, and Complex Needs.
- Complete routine audits, rota management, and maintain positive relationships with families and professionals.
- Attend assessments, review meetings, and assist in the Registered Manager’s absence.
- Provide clear working examples of leadership and management in practice.
- Work independently, using initiative and strong organisational skills.
- Occasional shift cover may be required.
- Previous Service Manager experience is required.
- Experience in care or a similar role is essential.
- Ability to delegate effectively.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours confidently and safely.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead others.
- A driving licence is not essential but would be an advantage.
The role requires travel across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. A typical week includes:
- Minimum 4 Days in service in Stoke-on-Trent
- 1 office-based day as required
Some weekend work will be required on a rota with the leadership team to ensure strong leadership presence beyond office hours.
