We are seeking an experienced Head of Infrastructure & Service to lead our organisation’s group-wide technology services and infrastructure capability. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the reliable, secure and cost-effective delivery of modern workplace technologies, cloud platforms and infrastructure services. You will define the strategy, roadmap and budget for infrastructure and services while driving continuous improvement to support wider business and digital transformation goals. You will work closely with senior leaders across the organisation to ensure technology services are resilient, scalable and aligned with business priorities. This position is based at our Ipswich Head Office on a hybrid basis with 3 days in the office. We are offering a 6 figure salary with competitive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the infrastructure, cloud and technology service strategy aligned with business and digital priorities.
  • Establish group-wide standards and reference architectures for cloud, infrastructure and workplace services.
  • Drive adoption of modern, scalable and resilient platforms.
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of core technology services including workplace technology, hosting, networks and shared platforms.
  • Ensure services meet agreed performance, availability and resilience standards.
  • Lead service management processes including incident, problem and service improvement.
  • Monitor and report on service performance and operational metrics.
  • Lead the management of cloud, on-premise and hybrid infrastructure platforms.
  • Ensure capacity planning, lifecycle management and cost optimisation.
  • Support future digital, application and data requirements.
  • Lead delivery of infrastructure change programmes including upgrades, migrations and platform transformation.
  • Work closely with digital delivery teams to ensure smooth and well-governed technology change.
  • Minimise operational risk and disruption during major technology changes.
  • Partner with the Head of Information Security to implement secure technology platforms.
  • Ensure services and infrastructure are secure by design and aligned with security standards.
  • Support incident response, resilience and disaster recovery planning.
  • Own the infrastructure and service budget including investment planning and cost optimisation.
  • Manage key technology vendors and service providers.
  • Ensure strong commercial governance across supplier contracts and services.
  • Act as a senior technology partner to group functions and operating companies.
  • Balance local operational needs with group-wide technology standards.
  • Communicate service performance, risks and future roadmap clearly to leadership.
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary infrastructure and service team.
  • Build capability across cloud, networks, platforms, workplace technology and service management.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Encourage innovation and collaboration across the organisation.

About You

We are looking for a strategic technology leader with strong operational experience across infrastructure, cloud and service delivery.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Experience leading cloud infrastructure environments (Azure) and cloud migration programmes.
  • Strong background in service management and technology operations.
  • Experience managing modern workplace environments (Microsoft 365).
  • Knowledge of networking, infrastructure platforms and security technologies.
  • Experience delivering infrastructure transformation and service change programmes.
  • Understanding of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering principles.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
  • ITIL knowledge or certification.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical 24/7 services.
  • Experience in renewable energy or maritime sectors.
