We are looking for an outstanding qualified Teacher (class to be agreed at interview, depending on suitability and experience). Fred Nicholson School is a Complex Needs School for pupils with a wide range of needs, including moderate and severe learning difficulties as well as social interaction and communication difficulties. In April 2026, we expanded to offer provision from Early Years through to Year 13. All pupils have an EHCP and access a curriculum adapted to suit needs ranging from early developmental levels through to KS4 and Post-16 accreditations.

The Role

We are seeking an outstanding practitioner with a background in or strong understanding of the EYFS and / or primary curriculum and a passion and desire to work with pupils with SEND. Age and stage class to be agreed at interview, depending on suitability and experience. You will:

  • Have a kind, enthusiastic and nurturing approach to teaching
  • Be driven to support learning for all pupils, and value planning to ensure progression.
  • Understand and value the importance of the class team, deploying colleagues effectively.
  • Value functional skills, including literacy, phonics, maths and independence skills.
