The Role
We are looking for a confident, customer-focused Account Executive to join our FRC Living team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of an established portfolio of customers, maintaining strong relationships while identifying opportunities to grow sales and maximise customer value. You'll be the main point of contact for your accounts, ensuring exceptional service, driving repeat business, and supporting customers throughout their journey.
Working closely with the Sales Team Manager, Customer Account Managers, Business Development Managers, Operations and Marketing teams, you'll play a key role in delivering sales growth while helping us achieve our social mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers through regular contact via telephone, email and meetings
- Identify opportunities to increase customer spend through upselling and cross-selling across the full product range
- Manage and convert an existing pipeline of sales opportunities into quotations and confirmed orders
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts
- Achieve agreed sales targets and contribute to overall business growth
- Respond promptly to customer enquiries, quotations and product information requests
- Monitor customer activity and identify opportunities for account development
- Support customer retention by delivering a high-quality customer experience
Customer Relationship Management
- Develop a thorough understanding of customer needs, challenges and purchasing behaviours
- Build trusted relationships that encourage long-term engagement and repeat business
- Proactively identify new contacts and stakeholders within customer organisations
- Resolve customer issues effectively, working collaboratively with internal teams
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records within the CRM system
- Track account performance against sales targets and KPIs
- Produce reports on customer activity, contract performance and spend
- Forecast customer account performance and sales opportunities
- Ensure all sales activity and customer interactions are recorded accurately
Collaboration & Sales Support
- Work closely with Customer Account Managers and Business Development Managers to ensure seamless account management
- Liaise with Operations teams to communicate customer requirements and support successful delivery
- Support the development of new sales opportunities through quote preparation, consultations and sample requests
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to provide relevant customer communications and information
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an Account Executive, Account Management or customer-facing sales role
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Experience managing customer accounts and developing existing business
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work towards targets
- Confident using CRM systems and maintaining accurate records
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Desirable
- Sales experience within a business-to-business environment
- Experience working within the housing sector
- Experience within furniture, interiors, white goods or a related industry
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent
