The predicted salary is between 50000 - 65000 £ per year.
Our C&I Engineers undertake a range of projects across all sectors from civil nuclear sites and defence facilities to renewable energy and storage systems. The projects vary from small scoping and feasibility studies for modifications or upgrades to the design of complex process plants including nuclear power stations and COMAH sites. Our work often has a safety critical element and interfaces with other teams within Frazer-Nash to deliver a multi-disciplinary service offering, managing these interfaces and effective communication internally and to clients is an essential element of this role.
Responsibilities
- Oversee C&I projects from concept design through to commissioning.
- Novel process control system design, including accompanying safety systems.
- Delivery of innovation projects, taking new systems and technologies from concept through to acceptance.
- Managing the production, verification and approval of electrical reports, specifications, and detailed design drawings.
- Managing a project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget.
- Client facing to develop requirements and negotiating contracts / agreements, and progress reporting and risk management.
Qualifications
- MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
- Extensive practical knowledge of process control systems, along with a solid understanding of EC&I documents such as SLDs, P&IDs, BCDs, and schematics.
- Extensive experience developing solutions for safety-critical systems aligned with the following standards: IEC 61508, IEC 61511, ISO 13849, DO-178, and DO-254.
- Experience with working to the requirements of ISO 9001.
- Mentoring and development of electrical engineers.
- Technical leadership on projects.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience of working with the following platforms: Siemens TIA Portal, Pilz PAS4000, Rockwell Studio Logic.
- Formal functional safety certification/accreditation (such as TUV Functional Safety Professional).
- Understand or awareness of Cyber Security standards such as IEC 62443.
- Familiarity with change control and defect tracking tools and processes.
- Chartership.
- Interfacing with Regulators (ONR, DMR, CAA, MAA, Ofgem, ORR, etc).
Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
