About the Role: As a Nuclear Engineering Consultant, you’ll work on exciting and complex engineering challenges in the UK. You’ll provide high‑value technical and strategic support across the nuclear lifecycle—from concept and design, through safety and analysis, to operations, asset management and decommissioning. You’ll collaborate with multi‑discipline teams, work closely with operators and regulators, and contribute to projects that support the UK’s journey to net‑zero.
We’re Looking For Consultants In:
- Nuclear Regulatory & GDA Practitioners – GDA process strategy & topic leads, regulatory justification, planning & compliance, environmental permitting, site license application, NRC compliance
- Safety Case Engineering – safety case production, ALARP assessments, hazard analysis, compliance and regulatory interface
- Systems Engineering – requirements management, systems integration, design lifecycle management
- Electrical, Electronic & EC&I Engineering – high‑integrity design, control systems, instrumentation, functional safety
- Asset Integrity & Materials Engineering – structural integrity, corrosion, ageing assessment, asset management
- Modelling & Simulation – thermal‑hydraulics, CFD, systems modelling, digital twins
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high‑quality engineering analysis, modelling, design support or safety documentation
- Engage with clients across industry, defence, and government
- Contribute to bids, proposals and strategic consultancy work
- Work as part of diverse, technically capable project teams
- Support development of junior engineers and promote best practice
- Help shape technical solutions that improve safety, reliability and performance
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering, Physics or a related STEM field
- Experience in nuclear, high‑hazard, defence or regulated industries
- Highly developed problem‑solving abilities coupled with effective communication skills
- Ability to manage tasks and collaborate across teams
- Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
- Eligibility for UK security clearance (SC or DV)
- Progress toward Chartership (CEng) or already chartered (desirable)
Due to the nature of the work, candidates will be required to undergo pre‑employment screening and must satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
