We are seeking an experienced and motivated Structural Integrity Engineer to join Frazer-Nash Consultancy. The role focuses on managing and extending the life of ageing critical assets, with a background in asset integrity, condition assessments and asset life extension for pressure equipment, pipework and rotating machinery. You will deliver specialized guidance on the safe and efficient operation of assets across industries, spanning the lifecycle from substantiation of new designs to life extension of critical plant.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers to diagnose defects in vessels and develop strategies for entire production facilities or power stations.
  • Apply your expertise across design/assessment codes, plant operation, pressure vessels and pipe work, and rotating machinery; use FEA, fatigue, fracture, plant investigations, failure analysis and fitness-for-service methods.
  • Work across Frazer-Nash and with clients, making structured decisions, solving problems and taking ownership.
  • Form effective teams and mentor junior team members to meet customer requirements.
  • Contribute to projects through the full lifecycle, from substantiation of new designs to life extension of critical plant.
  • Collaborate to develop strategies for assets and production facilities while maintaining a strong safety and quality focus.
  • Engage with clients closely to understand their toughest challenges and deliver solutions.

Essential Requirements

  • A degree in engineering or equivalent. MEng, MSc or PhD.
  • Ability to travel and conduct site visits, customer meetings, and plant walkdowns.
  • Deep technical knowledge in the mechanical/structural engineering domain, with familiarity across other disciplines.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (preferably Abaqus, Ansys or LS-Dyna).
  • Experience with codes and standards, such as ASME III, ASME VIII, API579, BS7608, BS7910, R5/R6.
  • Experience in a customer facing role for both project delivery and business winning.
  • Recognised by peers / industry as a trusted advisor in your discipline.
