Salary: £50,000 to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Location: Glasgow, Bristol, Burton on Trent, Gloucester, Leatherhead, Manchester, Plymouth (flexible hybrid working, with time split between the office and working from home).

Responsibilities:

  • You will conduct strength, fatigue (low‑cycle and high‑cycle), creep and defect tolerance assessments of safety‑critical parts using Finite‑Element Analysis (FEA).
  • You will support clients in the design, operational troubleshooting, and life‑extension of nuclear assets.
  • You will also deliver and lead projects across Frazer‑Nash's portfolio, engage with customers, and collaborate with the consultancy team.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Technical knowledge in mechanical/structural engineering.
  • Experience with FEA tools such as Abaqus, Ansys or LS‑Dyna.
  • Experience with failure mechanisms: strength, fatigue (low‑cycle and high‑cycle), creep and fracture.
  • Familiarity with codes and standards such as ASME III, ASME VIII, API579, BS7608, BS7910, R5/R6.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to make structured decisions, solve problems, and take initiative.
  • Capacity to work across the business with clients and support team members.
  • Pre‑employment screening and UK National Security Vetting clearance.
