Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office and working from home.
The Frazer-Nash Asset Integrity Teams are set up to provide knowledge and understanding on the integrity and design of mechanical structures using innovative analysis and assessment approaches. We support our clients by delivering expert guidance and efficient operation of assets that are high value, high performance and safety critical. The work we deliver ranges from substantiation of new designs to supporting life extension of critical plant. There is significant demand for these skills across the life cycle of nuclear programmes from small modular reactors, new builds, power generation, life extension, defueling, and decommissioning.
To that end we are seeking to recruit skilled engineers that can ensure we meet our clients’ requirements. In your role you’ll have the opportunity to demonstrate experience of conducting structural integrity work within the nuclear sector. You will use your skills, experience and understanding with FEA, design code assessments, fatigue, fracture and/or fitness-for-service to solve demanding integrity problems. As a commercially oriented business, you will have a central role in the planning and management of projects, holding client relationships, and delivering against their requirements. You won’t be working alone as you will work closely with your technical group, the wider business, and be part of a variety of project delivery teams. In your role, you will be investing in the future of engineering through supporting the development and mentoring of junior engineers and contributing to the development of future capabilities.

Requirements- A degree in engineering or equivalent. MEng, MSc or PhD would be desirable.
- Ability to occasionally travel and support client site visits and plant walkdowns.
- Technical knowledge in the mechanical / structural engineering domain.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (including Abaqus, Ansys or LS Dyna).
- Experience with design codes and standards, such as ASME III, ASME VIII, API579, BS7608, BS7910, PD 5500, BS EN 13445, BS EN 13480.
- Experience with fracture mechanics and the R6 assessment procedure.
- Knowledge of high temperature assessment to R5 would be advantageous, but not essential.
- Experience in a technical consultancy environment.
- Experience of business development.
- Experience of building client relationships.
- Experience of project management.
