Experienced Mechanical Engineer – Composites Specialist

Salary range: Β£45,000 to Β£65,000 per annum depending on experience

Location: Leatherhead or Bristol

Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office and working from home.

We\’re expanding to support many exciting new opportunities across industries like maritime, defence, renewables, and space. We\’re looking for a composite specialist with experience in leading structural analysis projects.

Responsibilities

  • Detailed finite element analysis of composite structures under extreme loads
  • Developing strategies and standards for life extension
  • Assessing structures against impact loads
  • Creating design guidance for the analysis of components
  • Providing analysis to support the design of new products
  • Optimising future designs

Requirements

  • Experienced in the design, manufacturing or analysis of composite structures
  • Experienced in performing structural analysis on composites and/or metallic structures
  • A degree or PhD in a STEM (Science, technology, engineering or mathematics) subject
  • Experience with codes and standards

Preference (Not Essential)

  • Experience with at least one of the major finite element analysis software packages
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or Matlab

Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
