Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home.

As an Aeronautical and Mechanical Graduate Placement Student, you’ll be surrounded by a collaborative engineering community to support you, deliver impact, learn and excel.
This community includes your graduate engineer peers and those in the first few years of their careers through to internationally recognised experts with many decades of experience.
The Role
This is a placement year for students wanting to explore a career within the Aeronautical and Mechanical industry at Frazer-Nash. As a student, you could be joining one of the following discipline areas:
- Fluids, Thermal and Process Engineering
- Structural and Mechanical Integrity
- Design and Concept Engineering
These areas support our Defence, Energy and Transport & Industry client sectors and are geographically based across our range of UK offices.
Within these areas, you will be involved in delivering a diverse range of projects to our clients working from component level to system level, throughout all aspects of project lifecycle (from R&D to decommissioning) and in conjunction with other technical disciplines.
Your Projects Could Include:
- Aerodynamic design of a hypersonic aircraft
- Aerodynamic optimisation of an offshore wind farm
- Design of a towed submarine system
- Prediction of cooling flow effectiveness in a jet engine
- Development of a novel space satellite system
Those selected will receive training, mentoring and coaching to support their development into becoming well-rounded consultants and will be supported to achieve professional accreditations including chartership with one of our five partnered institutions (IMechE, RAeS, IET, RINA & IoP).

You will need to have obtained, or be on track to attain, a 2:1 Degree or higher (or equivalent/experience) with a related Engineering or relevant physical sciences bias.
Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and will be required to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
