Our client is a highly successful London-based technology company that who have built a collaborative and high-performing culture that supports both employee development and business growth. They are currently looking for an experienced People & Operations Manager on a 12 month FTC to play a key role in supporting their people, culture, compliance, and day-to-day business operations. This is a pivotal position that will ensure the organisation continues to provide an outstanding employee experience while maintaining operational excellence across the business.

About the Role

As People & Operations Manager, you will take ownership of the company's people function while overseeing key operational, compliance, and office management activities. Working closely with senior leadership, you will act as a trusted advisor on all people-related matters, ensuring employees are supported throughout their lifecycle while helping to maintain a positive, productive, and compliant working environment. This is a broad and varied role that combines HR leadership, operational management, governance, and business support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, probation reviews, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Develop, review, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee documentation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters and HR escalations.
  • Support managers with performance, wellbeing, engagement, and development initiatives.
  • Coordinate payroll administration and ensure all people-related records are accurate and up to date.
  • Manage HR systems and maintain compliance with employment legislation and internal processes.
  • Oversee company policies relating to HR, Health & Safety, Anti-Bribery, Modern Slavery, and other governance requirements.
  • Support legal and compliance matters, including employment-related queries and external advisory relationships.
  • Coordinate ISO compliance activities, audits, documentation, and ongoing process improvements.
  • Manage office operations, facilities, suppliers, and workplace logistics, acting as the main point of contact.
  • Produce regular people and operational reports for senior leadership.
  • Monitor key people metrics including absence, annual leave, employee turnover, and engagement.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across HR, operations, and internal processes.
  • Act as a trusted link between employees and the leadership team.

About You

Requirements

  • At least four years' experience in a People, HR, or People Operations leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Experience managing employee relations, performance management, and people development processes.
  • Knowledge of payroll administration and HR systems.
  • Experience supporting compliance frameworks, policies, and governance activities.
  • Exposure to ISO standards, audit preparation, or accreditation frameworks would be beneficial.
  • Experience managing office operations, facilities, or business support functions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Positive, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach.
