About The Role
Due to an ongoing project, an incredible opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Specialist to join the team. In this role you will be supporting the full payroll lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, project duties on an ad hoc basis, and timely delivery across multiple payroll systems within a team-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate, end-to-end payroll processing across multiple payrolls, ensuring timely and compliant payments.
- Perform payroll checks, reconciliations, and validations, resolving errors, warnings, tax code changes, and discrepancies.
- Manage starters, leavers, statutory payments, deductions, auto-enrolment, and third-party payments, including court orders.
- Respond to payroll and pension queries, providing clear, professional support to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, reports, and documentation, supporting audits, GDPR compliance, and controls.
- Support payroll improvements through system testing, legislative updates, process reviews, and cross-team collaboration.
Experience And Skills:
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing, including PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments, and relevant payroll legislation.
- Confident IT skills, with experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams; payroll system knowledge (such as iTrent) is advantageous.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, supported by strong numeracy and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience within projects: UAT Testing is highly desirable.
- Able to work independently, effectively manage competing priorities, and consistently meet tight payroll deadlines.
- Good understanding of GDPR, data protection, and compliance requirements within a payroll environment.
