A well-established Scottish law firm in East Lothian is currently recruiting a Private Client Solicitor to join its expanding team. This is a full-time, permanent position offering hybrid working and the opportunity to join a busy and supportive private client department.

The team currently comprises four solicitors, two paralegals, and four support staff, and manages a high volume of general private client work. The role will have a strong focus on executry administration and the drafting of wills and powers of attorney, alongside broader private client matters.

The successful candidate will advise clients across a wide range of private client work including:

  • wills
  • powers of attorney
  • succession planning
  • estate administration
  • trusts
  • related tax considerations

You will manage your own caseload while also supporting colleagues on more complex matters, providing clear, empathetic, and professional advice to clients.

The firm would consider a newly qualified solicitor; however, the ideal candidate will have 2–5 years’ PQE in private client work. There is flexibility on level for the right individual, reflecting the firm’s commitment to securing a strong long-term addition to the team.

The salary range is competitive, with scope for a higher package for an exceptional candidate with the right experience and expertise.
