We have been instructed on this senior role with our client, a global law firm specialising in disputes, insurance, and advisory services. The firm is currently recruiting an experienced lawyer to join its growing insurance practice, based in either its Edinburgh or Glasgow office. The insurance team advises on a broad range of complex matters for a varied client base, including professionals, insurers, and corporates.
The team is seeking a candidate with at least 3 years’ PQE level with strong professional indemnity expertise. The successful individual will have experience acting for professionals and insurers in complex and high-value claims. Advocacy experience is desirable, as is previous exposure to both the Sheriff Court and Court of Session.
Key tasks will include:
- Advising on both pre-litigated and litigated matters, promoting early resolution and exploring alternative dispute resolution where appropriate
- Handling a wide range of professional indemnity cases, including high-value and technically complex claims
- Advising on claims as well as conduct and service complaints
Applications are welcomed from candidates with a strong litigation background, ideally in insurance or commercial litigation. The firm is also open to hearing from individuals seeking flexible working arrangements.
