Job Description
Sales Consultants – Full Time (New Store)
Purpose of the role:
To represent Gieves and Hawkes within our new store Bath, with integrity and professionalism, continuously seeking ways to surprise and delight the Client, with all actions rooted in the core values. As the face and voice of the brand, this role is pivotal to the ongoing success of the store, and the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Increase sales by selecting products to meet customer requirements, highlighting the features & benefits of the product and offering related products wherever appropriate.
- Support the store to increase sales through commitment to personal KPIs and objectives
- Use the till system and back-office functions accurately, ensuring correct prices are charged and the customer’s transaction is fulfilled to their satisfaction
- Be clear and concise around limitations of alterations and after sales expectations, upsell customer to MTM and Bespoke where necessary.
- Carry out only necessary alterations on RTW garments or overcomplicate customer transactions.
Service
- Welcome and acknowledge customers as they enter and move around the store.
- Give accurate and current information about product and processes, requesting assistance when necessary, requesting additional training if needed
- Determine the needs of the customer, direct them to the correct department/individual and/or deliver professional advice.
- Interpret customer needs and their favoured approach and adapt accordingly
- Show integrity and knowledge when fitting the customer in a RTW garment. Under promise, over deliver.
- Maintain a high level of personal presentation in line with company dress code, as well as good personal hygiene and grooming standards.
- Balance the needs of the customer with the core brand values and company policies.
- Organise couriers, postage, transfers in a timely and accurate manner
- Handover to colleagues/management before rest days or holidays to ensure a smooth process for all customers
Communication
- Communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a polite and inclusive attitude. Follow up on important conversations in writing to ensure understanding of next steps/what further action is required.
- Speak to other staff and customers with courtesy and respect.
- Handle any complaints with a positive and proactive approach.
- Build productive trusting relations with colleagues and customers.
Store Operations
- Ensure the store is kept clean and tidy, maintaining company visual merchandising standards
- Understand and execute company policies and procedures
- Adhere to store scheduling, arrive to store ahead of shift, ready to start work at your scheduled time.
- Participate in stock counts when needed
- Adhere to Health and Safety guidelines, escalating potential risks to line manager. Make sensible decisions and don’t put others at risk.
- Encourage and support others
- Put stock away with care and ensure stock on the sales floor is steamed, hung properly, tagged and ticketed correctly
- Take responsibility to keep up to date with changes in procedures, responding to change in a positive manner

Qualifications
- Passion & real interestluxury menswear/tailoring
- Working or has worked in customer facing environment – Sales & Hospitality

Additional Information
Basic Salary – £25,000- £26,500 full time (over 21 yrs), monthly store commission, clothing allowance & company product discount.
