Fraser Edwards are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Supervisor for a long-term contract role based in Hardham, West Sussex. This role will be working on a large clean water project in Pulborough (RH20 1LA), involving significant mechanical installation works, including pipework up to approximately 800mm. Our client is a well-established contractor delivering major infrastructure projects. Due to ongoing project demands, they are looking to bring in an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to support site operations.

Pay: £280.00-£300.00 per day

This is a hands-on, working supervisor role, ideal for someone who can lead a small team while remaining actively involved in installation work.

The Role:

  • Supervise and lead a team of mechanical pipefitters on site
  • Carry out hands-on mechanical installation work
  • Read and interpret technical drawings to support installation
  • Install and oversee large-scale pipework systems (up to 800mm)
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures
  • Coordinate daily activities to maintain productivity and workflow
  • Work collaboratively with other trades and site management teams

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in mechanical installation (pipework essential)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience leading or supervising teams on site
  • Strong understanding of health & safety procedures
  • Mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent preferred)
  • CSCS card (preferred)

Desirable:

  • SSSTS or SMSTS (not essential)
  • Experience working on water treatment or clean water sites
  • Water Hygiene certification (can be provided if required)

  • Long-term contract (running through most of 2026)
