Fraser Edwards are currently recruiting for an experienced Lettings Officer to join a well-established Local Authority housing service on an ongoing contract basis.
Pay: £23.73- £18.86 Per Hour
This role sits within a busy Allocations and Lettings team and plays a key part in the day-to-day operation. The successful candidate will support council and housing association lettings, nominations to special schemes, mutual exchanges and appeals, helping to ensure homes are allocated fairly, efficiently and sensitively.
You’ll be joining a stable public-sector organisation with a strong focus on service delivery, customer care and partnership working. This is an excellent opportunity for a Lettings professional with strong local authority experience who is looking for a long-term contract role within housing services.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the efficient and sensitive letting and pre-letting of Council and Housing Association properties
- Administer the Choice Based Lettings system, including nominations to Housing Associations and Special Schemes
- Manage Mutual Exchanges in line with legislation and local policy
- Respond to Members’ enquiries, complaints and complex casework
- Prepare reports for the Case Review Panel and administer the appeals process
- Deputise for the Senior Lettings Officer as required and supervise Lettings Assistants
- Liaise with internal services, external agencies and senior stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records across all housing and case management systems
- Proven experience responding to Members’ enquiries, preferably within a Local Authority setting
- Experience working within housing allocations, lettings or nominations
- Strong knowledge of Choice Based Lettings and relevant housing legislation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines
- Confident IT user with experience of housing systems
- Ongoing contract role
- 35 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
