Reporting to the Customer Operations Manager, this person will be tasked with the accurate and timely handling of customer enquiries, order processing, and shipping of customer orders using approved carriers to meet customer delivery expectations and trade legislation.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately process customer orders to processing target times.
- Calculation of shipping charges using carrier price matrix.
- Advise internally on matters of delivery, costs and shipping related queries.
- Despatch and raise shipping documentation via ERP system and using carrier specific systems.
- Raise bespoke shipping documentation and customs paperwork.
- Liaise with customers and other departments during the booking process to ensure all shipments are handled correctly and in good time.
- Working with customers and suppliers to ensure the correct customs documentation is received and filed for all shipments.
- Build and maintain relationships with carriers and hauliers.
- Checking carrier invoices and reporting any discrepancies.
- Allocate and scanning of completed job sheets.
- Printing operating instructions, and forms for office and production.
- Provide cover for other Customer Operations team members as required.
Key Skill Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role with legislation/compliance knowledge.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High level of numeracy and literacy.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy is essential.
- Analytical with a strong problem-solving approach.
- Ability to work under pressure and able to prioritise changing and strict deadlines.
- Proactive and professional approach.
- Must be self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
