About the Role
- Available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm, as a Teaching Assistant, including 35 minutes per day as an MDSA
- Able to support small groups and individual pupils with a wide range of learning needs and abilities
- Committed to supporting teaching, learning, and safeguarding policies and procedures
- Able to establish and maintain positive, effective relationships with pupils and colleagues
- Able to assist in preparing learning activities and classroom resources
- Committed to promoting positive behaviour using appropriate behaviour management strategies in line with school policy
- Committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all pupils
- Able to deliver intervention groups for pupils with SEND, or is willing to undertake relevant training
- Able to provide feedback to the class teacher and/or SENCO regarding pupils’ learning, progress, and behaviour strategies
- Able to support pupils with high needs on a 1:1 basis when required
- Willing to undertake break‑time supervision duties, promoting positive play and encouraging a positive playtime experience
- Able to deliver whole‑class lessons and activities for up to 30% of employed time throughout the school year

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, and a first aid qualification would be highly desirable.
This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018. The school will need to ensure that it is not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self‑declaration form as part of the pre‑employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations. If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
Hours of work
- TA: 29.17 hours per week.
- MDSA: 2.92 hours per week.
- Working pattern: Part‑time, term‑time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years’ continuous service). As the position is part‑time/term‑time only, the above salary will be pro rata.
- Fixed term for: 10.5 months.
