This role supports the One Council approach in East Sussex, prioritising the delivery of high-quality services within a tight fiscal environment. The post has a strong focus on shaping the county’s adults and older people services, policy, commissioning, market support and brokerage activities, and on maintaining effective collaboration with partners across the NHS, local government, the provider market and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead policy, commissioning, market support and brokerage activities for adults and older people services.
  • Work closely with a range of partners and communities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to translate national policy into local delivery, drive positive change, and lead a talented and committed team across the council and wider health and care system.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with partners in the NHS, Borough and District colleagues, the provider market, and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors.

Qualifications

Whatever your background, bring a sound understanding of the adult social care market and how national policy can be translated through different approaches with partners to achieve the best local outcomes. A track record of delivering positive change and experience in leading a team is desirable.
