The Role
We are seeking candidates for a Trainee Bulk Analyst position, which involves working towards undertaking analysis of materials for the identification of asbestos fibres. The role offers full in-house training with the expectation you will progress to a fully qualified Bulk Analyst position, by undertaking the examination required to achieve a P401 qualification.
The role will involve:
- Analysing bulk materials for asbestos content
- Managing workload throughout the working day
- Completing internal and external QC
- Filling in the workbook daily of samples that have been entered and sent out
- Following technical procedures
- Managing laboratory workload; including booking samples into the in-house system
- Upholding good communication with colleagues
As a Trainee Bulk Analyst, you will have:
- Good communication skills
- The ability to focus for long periods of time
- The ability to meet timescales
- The capacity to avoid being easily distracted
- The ability to work alone without supervision within a laboratory environment
- Excellent attention to detail
Qualifications and experience
- A full UK driving licence
- Laboratory experience or knowledge of the asbestos industry would be helpful but not essential
- The ability to work towards further qualifications is essential as the role requires you to achieve a P401 qualification (full training will be provided)
