Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Trainee / Junior Accountant to join our team and develop within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role
This role is ideal for someone at the early stages of their accountancy career who is looking to build experience within practice while continuing their studies. You will work closely with senior team members, supporting a variety of client work while developing your technical skills and confidence. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies
- Supporting the preparation of VAT returns
- Assisting with management accounts production
- Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting corporation tax and personal tax compliance work
- Preparation of payroll
- Using cloud accounting software such as Xero
- Assisting with client onboarding and cloud system set-up
- Supporting the team in responding to client queries
As you gain experience, you will gradually take on more responsibility and increase your level of client interaction.
About You
We are looking for someone who is motivated, organised and keen to develop a long-term career in accountancy. You should have:
- Experience working in an accountancy practice (preferred)
- A basic understanding of accounts preparation, VAT and payroll
- Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero (preferred)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive and positive attitude to learning
Ideally you will also be:
- Studying towards AAT Level 4
- Interested in progressing to ACCA / ACA in the future
