About The Department
The Investment Sustainability Solutions Team (ISST) is a multidisciplinary group of sustainable investment professionals specializing in sustainability data and research, stewardship, engagement, and reporting. The team supports investment teams and clients by integrating sustainability into the investment process, partnering with Investment Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Product to enable data‑driven decision‑making.
How You Will Add Value
- Conduct data‑driven sustainability research on financially material risks, opportunities, and impacts.
- Support thematic research across climate, nature, human capital, governance, and other topics.
- Evaluate, curate, and analyze large datasets from internal and external sustainability data vendors.
- Analyze, validate, and interpret sustainability data for investment and risk use cases.
- Enhance internal analytical frameworks supporting sustainability risk and opportunity assessments.
- Translate research insights into scalable analytics with quantitative and technology partners.
- Support sustainability data vendor due diligence, methodologies, coverage, and limitations.
- Contribute to governance, documentation, and best practices for sustainability data usage.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Identify financially material sustainability topics across asset classes and investment styles.
- Support investment decision‑making through rigorous, data‑driven sustainability insights.
- Help evolve how sustainability data integrates into investment processes.
Teams & Collaboration
- Partner closely with investment teams on sustainability data and research questions.
- Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Product, Technology, and Reporting teams globally.
- Communicate complex analytical findings clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
What Will Help You Be Successful
- Mid‑to‑senior level experience in data analysis, research, or analytics within asset management or financial services.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments and investment concepts across one or more asset classes.
- Experience supporting investment teams or working in research tied to investment decision‑making.
- Interest in sustainability topics and willingness to develop expertise in financial materiality assessment.
Technical Skills
- Experience with databases and data analysis tools such as SQL.
- Basic to intermediate experience using Python or R for analysis.
- Ability to work with large, imperfect datasets using sound judgement and critical thinking.
- Familiarity with analytics, models, dashboards, or scalable analytical frameworks.
- Exposure to sustainability data vendors, frameworks, or emerging sustainability regulations.
