We are looking for an experienced Streetworks Co-ordinator to join our growing team. This is a key office-based role with site attendance as required, responsible for the end-to-end management of permits, traffic management, and statutory compliance across our streetworks portfolio. You will be the central point of contact between our site teams, highway authorities, and supply chain, ensuring works are planned, permitted, and delivered in full compliance with NRSWA and TMA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise, manage, and close out permits and notices through DfT Street Manager.
- Request, review, and co‑ordinate Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) with approved suppliers.
- Liaise with highway authorities, utilities, and stakeholders to secure approvals and resolve queries.
- Carry out light deployment of traffic management on site (basic Chapter 8 cones, signs, and guarding) where required.
- Attend site meetings, pre‑start meetings, and co‑ordination meetings as required.
- Supervise streetworks projects from a compliance and co‑ordination perspective, supporting site supervisors.
- Monitor permit conditions, working hours, and reinstatement timescales, escalating risks early.
- Maintain accurate records of permits, FPNs, defects, and inspections, and support monthly reporting.
- Support tender submissions and pre‑construction planning where streetworks input is required.
- Promote a strong health, safety, and quality culture across all activities.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrable experience in a streetworks, highways, or utilities co‑ordination role.
- Working knowledge of DfT Street Manager and the permitting process end‑to‑end.
- Strong understanding of NRSWA 1991, the Traffic Management Act 2004, and associated codes of practice.
- Familiarity with Chapter 8 traffic management requirements and basic on‑site deployment.
- Confident user of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with authorities and clients.
- Well organised, with the ability to manage multiple live projects and competing deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
Desirable Skills
- NRSWA Supervisor (Unit 2) and/or Operative qualifications (Units 1 and 10).
- LANTRA / 12D Traffic Management Operative or Supervisor qualifications.
- SSSTS or SMSTS site supervision qualification.
- CSCS card.
- Experience working with London borough and South East highway authority permitting schemes.
- Experience using Trimble Fieldview or similar site management platforms.
