A leading and expanding MSP are seeking a Resource Manager to join our Project Management Office. In this role, you’ll lead our resourcing and scheduling function to ensure all resources are fully utilised and projects are delivered successfully. You’ll also support our Automation Team by performing Scrum Master duties, leading agile ceremonies and ensuring alignment. This opportunity is ideal for someone with at least three years of experience in project planning, resource management, or a Scrum Master role—especially within networking, automation, or cybersecurity environments. There is also scope for involvement in project coordination on larger-scale initiatives.

Your Role as Resource Manager

Reporting to the Projects Director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day assignment of resources to projects, ensuring optimal team utilisation. You’ll maintain visibility across all projects to allow for quick reallocation of resources as priorities shift. You’ll lead daily stand-ups and facilitate fortnightly sprint planning and retrospectives for the Automation Team. You will also deliver forecasting and reporting to the PMO on project statuses, resource utilisation, variance tracking, and other resourcing KPIs.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse project backlog and prioritise tasks
  • Allocate skilled resources to projects based on requirements
  • Manage scheduling tools and maintain transparency for stakeholders
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies with the Automation Team
  • Monitor and optimise resourcing activity
  • Track milestones and ensure project timelines are met
  • Collaborate with other departments to forecast demand
  • Reassign and reallocate work as needed
  • Manage escalations to avoid project blockers
  • Report on utilisation, forecasting, burn-down metrics, etc.
  • Provide project support on complex initiatives
  • Offer creative solutions to resource conflicts

Essential:

  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives)
  • Familiarity with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in resource planning or similar roles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
