Our client is currently undergoing a major technology transformation programme focused on modernising and streamlining its core infrastructure and services in line with wider business objectives. This role offers the opportunity to work with a broad range of modern technologies while taking ownership of the technical delivery of key infrastructure and systems projects. Ongoing support and training will be provided to help develop expertise across new and evolving technologies. The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative infrastructure team, reporting into senior service leadership and playing a key role in delivering business-critical technical projects across the organisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with senior infrastructure leadership to develop, maintain, and enhance the organisation’s core IT systems and operational infrastructure across multiple locations.
- Support the wider business strategy by contributing to key technology and operational objectives.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring the successful implementation and transition of new services into operational support.
- Act as an escalation point for infrastructure engineers and analysts, assisting with the troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues.
- Support ongoing transformation initiatives and adapt to evolving technology and infrastructure roadmaps.
- Contribute to IT operational standards, including service delivery processes, technology governance, procurement activities, and third-party supplier management.
- Collaborate across technical teams to help deliver strategic IT initiatives and continuous service improvements.
- Promote knowledge sharing and documentation best practices to enable the transition of repeatable support activities to service and operational teams.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, support procedures, testing plans, and disaster recovery processes.
- Stay informed on emerging infrastructure and cybersecurity trends, identifying opportunities to improve resilience, performance, and overall IT service delivery.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Strong experience with virtualisation platforms, including administration, maintenance, and performance management.
- Solid knowledge of cloud technologies, identity management platforms, and application configuration within enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of Windows Server technologies and associated infrastructure services across multiple server versions.
- Good networking knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot connectivity and routing issues; experience with switch configuration is advantageous.
- Understanding of disaster recovery and high availability solutions, with experience supporting business continuity objectives.
- Experience managing core infrastructure services such as directory services, DNS, DHCP, replication, and identity-related technologies.
- Knowledge of enterprise file services and data replication technologies.
- Strong understanding of application infrastructure, resilience, and high availability concepts across business-critical systems.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring and alerting tools, including configuring performance and availability monitoring across enterprise environments.
- General understanding of telephony and unified communications technologies, including voice routing concepts.
- Familiarity with IT service management processes, including change management and problem management practices.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to manage technical workloads and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
