What You’ll Do

  • Manage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases (including older and current versions).
  • Enhance and oversee backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Carry out regular upkeep such as patching, index tuning, and capacity checks.
  • Support and optimise SSRS and SSIS environments.
  • Partner with infrastructure and project teams to deliver modernisation and migration initiatives.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address issues before they impact clients.
  • Document procedures, standards, and client-specific setups for consistent delivery.
  • Provide technical insight and guidance to both clients and internal teams.

This role offers a healthy balance of project work, ongoing maintenance, and reactive support, giving you exposure to a variety of challenges and technologies.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven track record as a SQL Server DBA (SQL 2008 R2 and beyond).
  • Strong understanding of SQL Server management, maintenance, and patching.
  • Solid experience in backup/recovery, performance tuning, and optimisation.
  • Hands-on experience with SSRS and SSIS packages.
  • Background in infrastructure transformation or database migration projects.
  • Experience working across multiple environments or client bases (MSP experience desirable).
