Progress Coaches are responsible for a caseload of students and work with young people in group settings, smaller tutorials, and individual one-to-one supervisory meetings. They check and monitor student attendance, liaise with teaching and support staff, and provide essential guidance. As a Progress Coach, you will have direct contact with students, their families, and other stakeholders, offering support with financial, academic, social and emotional challenges that may be of significance to the progress of the student. You will play a crucial role in helping students to overcome obstacles, maintain full attendance, and maximise their learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of students and support them in group settings, smaller tutorials, and one-to-one supervisory meetings.
  • Monitor student attendance and liaise with teaching and support staff to address attendance and progress concerns.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, families, and other stakeholders on financial, academic, social and emotional matters affecting progress.
  • Support students to overcome obstacles, maintain attendance, and maximise learning opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Educated to minimum Level 3 (A Level) with a good standard of English.
  • Reliable, professional, with excellent communication skills.
  • Empathetic and able to work under pressure.

Role details

Franklin Sixth Form College is seeking to appoint two Progress Coaches with excellent interpersonal skills. One post is permanent and one is a fixed-term maternity cover. Full-time/term-time salary: £21,423.60 to £22,836.29 per annum. Salary scale note: These posts are on the Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff Pay Spine 5-9; currently £25,159 to £26,818 FTE, depending on experience. Other benefits include the Local Government Pension Scheme, free gym facilities, free parking, Cycle to Work Scheme, and on-site catering.
