Overview Central London (hybrid, 2–3 days per week in the office) Permanent, full time Build clever software.

We have partnered with an ambitious, well-funded Saa S technology startup entering an exciting phase of growth who are looking for a Staff Rust Engineer to help shape the technical direction of their platform, working on complex engineering challenges where performance, scalability and analytical thinking are critical.

This is more than a senior development role.

You will be a technical leader, influencing architecture, mentoring engineers and working alongside product and leadership teams to build software that makes a real impact, so you will need to enjoy solving difficult problems, thinking deeply about system design and writing high-quality Rust code.

Responsibilities Designing and building high-performance backend services using Rust.

Leading technical architecture and engineering best practice.

Solving complex technical and analytical challenges.

Mentoring and supporting other engineers through technical leadership and code reviews.

Improving the performance, scalability and resilience of the platform.

Driving engineering excellence across architecture, tooling and development processes.

Requirements Strong commercial experience developing software in Rust.

Experience operating at Senior, Principal, Lead or Staff Engineer level.

A track record of designing scalable, distributed systems.

Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical approach to engineering challenges.

Experience making architectural decisions and influencing technical direction.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
