We are working exclusively with a well-established non-profit organisation seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join their technology team. The primary focus of this role is maintaining and monitoring the organisation's Azure back-end infrastructure. You will take ownership of the day-to-day operation, optimisation, security, patch management, and continuous improvement of a critical Azure estate, ensuring services remain secure, resilient, and highly available.

This is a hands-on Azure engineering position requiring strong experience managing Azure infrastructure, deploying Windows Server workloads using Bicep Infrastructure as Code, optimising environments through Azure Advisor, and managing server updates via Azure Update Manager.

Essential Azure Experience
  • Maintaining and monitoring enterprise Azure infrastructure.
  • Deploying Windows Server workloads in Azure using Bicep Infrastructure as Code.
  • Managing and optimising Azure environments using Azure Advisor.
  • Managing server patching and compliance through Azure Update Manager.
  • Azure platform monitoring, alerting, performance optimisation, and operational management.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or equivalent.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, DNS, and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Azure security, governance, resilience, and operational best practices.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, monitor, and optimise Azure infrastructure.
  • Manage Azure virtual machines, networking, storage, and backup services.
  • Deploy and manage Windows Server infrastructure using Bicep.
  • Drive platform improvements using Azure Advisor recommendations.
  • Manage patching and update compliance through Azure Update Manager.
  • Support Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, DNS, and core Microsoft services.
  • Lead security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives.
  • Deliver cloud migration, infrastructure modernisation, and improvement projects.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for Azure infrastructure issues.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation and standards.
