Multi Skilled Void Operatives - Social Housing

Multi Skilled Void Operatives - Social Housing

Full-Time No working from home possible
F

Frank Rogers Building Contractors are expanding our social housing operations following the award of a significant programme of void property works across the Midlands and East of England.

We are looking to establish a reliable regional team of experienced Multi-Skilled Void Operatives to support an ongoing programme of works.

The workload will be across the wider Midlands region. Wherever possible, properties will be grouped geographically to minimise unnecessary travelling and allow operatives to work efficiently within defined areas.

Due to the nature of void-property works and changing demand, applicants should be comfortable with a reasonable amount of regional travel when required. As a general guide, this may involve travelling up to approximately one hour from your home/base or between working areas, although every effort will be made to allocate work efficiently and geographically.

This is not intended to be a role involving constant long-distance travelling. Our objective is to build regional teams and allocate consistent workloads within sensible geographical areas as the contract develops.

This is an opportunity for good-quality, reliable tradespeople looking for consistent work with an established main contractor.

Typical works will include:

  • Joinery repairs, doors, frames, locks and ironmongery
  • Kitchen repairs and installations
  • Basic plumbing and sanitary repairs
  • Patch plastering and making good
  • Wall and floor tiling
  • Skirtings, architraves and general carpentry
  • Sealants
  • General property repairs and maintenance
  • Completing works from void-property defect/scope sheets
  • Providing clear before, during and completion photographs

We are particularly interested in operatives who have previously worked within social housing, void properties, responsive repairs or property maintenance and are comfortable completing a range of trades rather than working within one narrow discipline.

Applicants should ideally have:

  • Strong multi-trade experience, preferably with a joinery, plumbing or property-maintenance background
  • Previous void or social-housing experience
  • Own van
  • Own normal hand and power tools
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel reasonably within the region when required
  • Relevant CSCS/trade qualifications where applicable
  • Good understanding of health & safety and asbestos procedures
  • Ability to use a smartphone/tablet to receive information, take photographs and record completed works
  • Good communication and a reliable, professional approach
  • Ability to work independently and complete works right first time

Successful applicants will be required to complete the appropriate compliance, identity and right-to-work checks before commencing.

There is significant potential for long-term work for the right operatives.
