We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious Surgical Registered Veterinary Nurse to join frank. Pet Surgeons. At frank. Pet Surgeons., we handle a diverse range of intriguing orthopaedic cases, including complex fractures, angular limb deformities, and spinal and soft tissue surgeries. How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Surgical Referral Nurse, you will deliver advanced nursing care to complex cases within a referral hospital environment, supporting patients, clients, and clinical teams across a range of disciplines. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to high standards of nursing care, supporting clinical decision‑making, and sharing your experience and knowledge with colleagues to continually improve patient outcomes and service delivery. This is a full‑time role of 40 hours per week, worked on a rotating 8‑week shift pattern. Standard shifts range from 7:00am to 8:00pm, with a dedicated scrub week (Tuesday‑Friday, 8:00am‑6:00pm, Monday off). The role also includes participation in an on‑call rota.
General responsibilities include:
- Assist Specialist surgeons with a wide range of orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures, including complex cases.
- Provide high‑quality anaesthesia and perioperative nursing care to support patient safety and recovery.
- Prepare and maintain surgical theatres.
- Work collaboratively within a Specialist‑led team while also using initiative and clinical autonomy.
- Support diagnostic and imaging procedures where required.
