We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious Surgical Registered Veterinary Nurse to join frank. Pet Surgeons. At frank. Pet Surgeons., we handle a diverse range of intriguing orthopaedic cases, including complex fractures, angular limb deformities, and spinal and soft tissue surgeries. As part of our Specialist‑led team, you will actively support our surgeons, providing a unique opportunity to enhance your surgical and anaesthesia skills and knowledge under the guidance of true experts.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Surgical Referral Nurse, you will deliver advanced nursing care to complex cases within a referral hospital environment, supporting patients, clients, and clinical teams across a range of disciplines. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to high standards of nursing care, supporting clinical decision‑making, and sharing your experience and knowledge with colleagues to continually improve patient outcomes and service delivery. This is a full‑time role of 40 hours per week, worked on a rotating 8‑week shift pattern. Standard shifts range from 7:00am to 8:00pm, with a dedicated scrub week (Tuesday‑Friday, 8:00am‑6:00pm, Monday off). The role also includes participation in an on‑call rota.

General responsibilities include:

  • Assist Specialist surgeons with a wide range of orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures, including complex cases.
  • Provide high‑quality anaesthesia and perioperative nursing care to support patient safety and recovery.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical theatres.
  • Work collaboratively within a Specialist‑led team while also using initiative and clinical autonomy.
  • Support diagnostic and imaging procedures where required.
