Role Overview
This role combines creative content creation, eCommerce management, and event coordination. The successful candidate will lead our digital marketing activity across both the wholesale and retail sides of the business – ensuring consistent, engaging communication with trade clients, garden centres, landscapers, and home gardeners.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Marketing & Social Media
- Develop a paid media marketing strategy with a focus on testing and critical analysis, in order to identify platforms and campaign structures that will drive sustainable business growth.
- Work with key stakeholders to establish KPIs and set defined goals and targets.
- Plan, create, and manage engaging digital content that reflects the Frank P Matthews brand.
- Develop and maintain a strong social media presence across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok).
- Produce original photography, video, and written content showcasing our trees, team, and seasonal highlights.
- Create and schedule digital campaigns, newsletters, and product promotions.
- Build and nurture an active online community of tree enthusiasts and professional partners.
- eCommerce Management
- Oversee daily operation of the company’s online shop, ensuring accurate listings, images, and product details.
- Coordinate with production and sales teams to manage stock levels and seasonal availability.
- Develop a clear ongoing strategy to develop and improve the online store experience.
- Deliver a seamless online shopping experience for customers, from browsing to checkout.
- Plan and execute seasonal online promotions and product launches.
- Event Management & Marketing Support
- Plan and support trade and consumer events, including shows, exhibitions, and open days.
- Attend events to represent the brand, create live content, and engage with customers.
- Coordinate event logistics, promotional materials, and post‑event follow‑up content.
- Work with the wider sales and marketing teams on product launches and brand campaigns.
- Wholesale Support
- Support trade clients with digital marketing materials, product imagery, and updates.
- Produce newsletters and trade updates highlighting new varieties and seasonal offers.
- Help maintain strong relationships with retail partners and professional growers.
- Reporting
- Agree on strategic KPIs for each channel.
- Deliver clear and easy‑to‑digest reports & analysis of performance on each marketing channel, providing expert comment on results and a clear plan for next steps.
- Help improve the business’s overall understanding of Marketing.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong creative skills with confidence in photography, video, and copywriting.
- Excellent organisation and multitasking ability.
- Experience with website CMS or eCommerce platforms (e.g. Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress).
- Confident using social media management and email marketing tools.
- Proven experience with PPC, Paid Social & SEO to deliver against business goals.
- High level of understanding of holistic marketing strategies and managing a multi‑channel marketing mix.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine interest in horticulture, sustainability, or the natural environment is a bonus.
Working Conditions
Full‑time, based at the Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire nursery. Occasional travel and weekend work required for trade and consumer events.
