I have partnered with a global consumer business to lead the search for an Organisational Change Manager (ERP). The role-holder will play a critical part in delivering a global ERP implementation programme and will assume responsibility for defining, developing, and implementing the overall change management strategy. Working closely with all business units, the Organisational Change Manager will help to define the nature and sequence of specific activities, resources, and interdependencies required to successfully rollout the project.
The ERP Organisational Change Manager will be responsible for defining, implementing, and driving a pragmatic Organisational Change Management (OCM) framework that includes:
- Identifying, categorising, engaging, and communicating with all stakeholders.
- Defining and delivering a comprehensive suite of project communication materials.
- Mobilising and aligning Leadership.
- Defining a comprehensive training strategy.
- Aligning the organisation on the rationale and nature of all changes.
- Enabling the workforce to operate successfully and optimally both during and post ERP implementation.
- Creating reusable OCM artefacts that can be leveraged in the future across multiple and varied global initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define, develop, implement, and embed a structured change / organisational readiness framework and methodology (ADKAR preferred).
- Apply change management processes and tools to deliver a strategy that supports and encourages the adoption of such changes required to effectively support the ERP project.
- Create actionable deliverables for the five change management levers: communications plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, resistance management plan, and change plan.
- Drive communication strategy supporting the design, development, delivery, and management of communications, in line with group communications guidelines.
- Develop and coordinate the training programme.
- Support the training effort, providing input, document requirements, and support the design and delivery of BU training programs undertaken by the functional workstreams.
- Assess the change impact of the new solution, through impact analysis and assessments, risk assessments, change readiness assessments, identifying and managing all associated actions.
- Actively identify, analyse, and mitigate risks in a structured and clearly communicated manner.
- Embed the Management of Change (MoC) process into the project methodology, global plans, and the BU plans.
- Proactively identify and manage anticipated resistance by developing a strong understanding of the business and actively addressing concerns.
- Consult and coach project teams/implementation teams to ensure all stakeholders are clear on requirements and that any gaps are actively addressed.
- Support, influence, and engage senior leaders, and coach managers and supervisors.
- Support organisational design and definition of roles and responsibilities.
- Drive change management activity at an organisational level, leveraging the functional workstreams, business change champions, and the HR function to support various activities.
- Embed all OCM activities into an overall project plan to ensure alignment.
- Support the Process Leads to evaluate and ensure user readiness.
- Manage the stakeholder plan.
- Track and report change issues, escalating as appropriate.
- Define and measure success metrics and establish a process to track benefits realisation and monitor change progress.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Demonstrable change management experience, ideally within a global commercial business.
- Direct experience of implementing and leading a change management model, ideally ADKAR.
- Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
- Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
- Organised with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics.
- Problem solving and root cause identification skills.
- Able to work effectively at all levels in an organisation.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of organisational issues and challenges.
- Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.
- Experience with large-scale organisational change efforts.
- Experience working in multiple environments, continents, and cultures.
- Educated to degree level or above, ideally within a relevant field - desirable.
