Francis Holland Regent's Park is seeking to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant with a particular focus on Performance Arts to start in September 2026.
Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning within the Music and Drama departments, particularly with organising co-curricular activities such as rehearsals, performances, concerts and productions.
- Meet weekly with the line manager (or delegated Senior Leadership Team member) to discuss weekly tasks.
- Cover lessons when teachers or other support staff are absent.
- Supervise pupils at break time and lunchtime using the rota of duties.
- Invigilate internal and public examinations as required during the school year.
- Accompany school trips if required, which may include some weekends and during school holidays.
- Act as a positive role model for pupils, demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm and care.
- Carry out administrative or other needed tasks in support of the school, e.g., labelling and stuffing envelopes for bulk mailings; sorting, collecting, covering and repairing textbooks; assisting with admissions events; undertaking photocopying and putting up displays; counting cash collected for charity events; assisting with second-hand uniform sales; chasing attendance registers, etc.
- Any other reasonable request from the Head related to this position of responsibility.
Qualifications
- University graduate considering a career in teaching and a desire to gain a good understanding of how an independent school operates.
- Proactive with strong team spirit.
- A strong interest in Music, Drama, or Performance Arts.
- Educated to university degree level.
- Experience of working with young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Pattern
- Term time plus two weeks during the school holidays.
- Working hours: 8:00-16:30 with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.
- This role will be line managed by the Senior Deputy Head.
- The salary is £31.2k full-time equivalent, pro-rated to approximately £26k based on the working pattern.
