Laboratory Research Officer – Goehring Lab at the Francis Crick Institute. Fixed term position through 19 March 2027 on Crick terms and conditions of employment. Salary from £31,695 with benefits, subject to skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily laboratory operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, equipment maintenance and coordination with team members.
- Assist with the planned move of the Goehring Lab to Oxford University, liaising with stakeholders and Science Operations.
- Collaborate with lab members on research projects and provide experimental or technical support.
- Contribute to an independent research project in genetics, CRISPR‑Cas9 or quantitative imaging tailored to your interests.
- Participate in academic activities such as group meetings, journal clubs, seminars and scientific meetings.
Key Qualifications
- Significant experience working with C. elegans (desirable).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and record keeping.
- Basic programming experience in Python (desirable).
- Experience with imaging techniques (desirable).
Minimum Criteria
- Educated to BSc. or equivalent in Biology or a related field.
- Previous research experience.
