HR Consultant – Hybrid Northampton

Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm

Location: Northampton, hybrid (home‑based with travel to clients)

Benefits: 25 days holiday, pension, sick pay

Francesca’s Recruitment Ltd is working in partnership with a leading UK consultancy specialising in Employment Law, HR and Health & Safety support for SMEs. We are seeking an experienced, proactive and quick‑thinking HR Consultant to join their team in a varied and fast‑paced role where you will play a key part in shaping business success through strategic people solutions. The successful candidate must be confident stepping into HR Advisor‑level issues under pressure and delivering effective support at pace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering effective HR strategies that support performance and business growth
  • Building strong and trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders
  • Managing the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, development and succession planning
  • Providing expert employee relations advice and coaching managers through complex cases
  • Ensuring compliance with employment law, policies and regulatory requirements
  • Using HR metrics and data to support decision making
  • Supporting organisational development initiatives alongside the Head of HR
  • Managing disciplinary matters, grievances and flexible working applications
  • Conducting fair and thorough investigations when required

Requirements

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (Level 7 preferred)
  • Five to ten years’ experience in a similar HR role
  • Proven background as a Senior HR Generalist
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for client visits
  • Quick thinker with the ability to step into HR Advisor duties under pressure
  • Strategic mindset with strong problem‑solving skills
  • Confident in conflict resolution, influencing and using data to support decisions
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a fast‑moving team
