Francesca's Recruitment Ltd is proud to represent a leading provider of care home equipment in their search for a skilled and customer‑focused Service Engineer / LOLER Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer based in Brighton or nearby to join a company that values precision, safety, and exceptional service delivery.
Location: Field‑based, covering Brighton, Eastbourne, Worthing, and surrounding Sussex areas
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm
Salary: £34,000 plus company vehicle, healthcare, pension, and additional benefits
Benefits Include:
- Thirty‑three days annual leave including bank holidays
- Two additional days off the following year for perfect attendance

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out LOLER inspections, servicing, and planned maintenance on care home equipment, including competitor products
- Diagnose faults and recommend repairs or upgrades to improve performance and reduce breakdowns
- Promote the company's preventive maintenance services and identify potential sales leads
- Maintain accurate records including timesheets, job numbers, travel logs, and equipment tagging
- Ensure company vehicle, tools, and devices are kept in excellent condition
- Participate in the out‑of‑hours call‑out rota
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in LOLER testing on care home or similar equipment is essential
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices and risk assessments
- Reliable, punctual, and detail‑oriented with excellent customer service skills
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight when required
- Formal education in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic engineering is preferred
- Clean driving licence; additional operating licences such as forklift are advantageous
- DBS or CRB checked, or willing to undergo checks for working in sensitive environments
