Francesca’s Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for an experienced Parts Manager to join a well-established construction machinery business based in Chesterfield. This is a key leadership role requiring strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage a busy parts operation effectively.
The Role
As Parts Manager, you will oversee all spare parts activities, including procurement, inventory management, distribution, customer service, and team leadership. You will drive performance, support business growth, and ensure the department operates efficiently and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement & Inventory Management — Source spare parts, manage suppliers, and maintain accurate stock levels.
- Distribution & Logistics — Ensure timely and efficient delivery of parts to customers.
- Customer Service — Provide expert support and resolve parts-related queries promptly.
- KPI & Performance Management — Set, monitor, and improve departmental KPIs.
- Order Processing — Oversee quoting, order entry, returns, and invoicing.
- Customer Relationship Management — Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Team Leadership — Manage, motivate, and develop the parts team.
- Reporting — Produce regular reports on aftermarket performance and improvements.
- E-commerce Management — Maintain online parts platforms, monitor activity, and manage promotions.
- Cross-Department Collaboration — Work with internal teams to streamline processes and resolve issues.
- Pricing & Promotions — Maintain accurate pricing and ensure promotions align with business goals.
- Product Knowledge — Develop a strong understanding of machinery and components.
- Obsolete Stock Management — Identify obsolete items and support new parts requirements.
- Process Improvement — Review stock and maintenance processes to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Cost Efficiency — Seek innovative, cost-effective inventory solutions.
- Business Development — Drive parts sales and support expansion opportunities.
- General Duties — Carry out additional tasks supporting operational success.
Your Profile
- Minimum 3 years’ staff management experience — essential.
- Extensive experience in spare parts management, ideally within construction machinery or a similar technical industry.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to develop and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Solid technical understanding of mechanical components and machinery.
- Experience with SAP, Salesforce, or Syncron is advantageous.

- Proven background in spare parts management or a related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of machinery and components.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
